description | A LARGE BLUE-AND-WHITE‘BAJIXIANG’PORCELAIN VASE, China, 19th ct. The compressed globular body with decor of lotus and the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bordered at the shoulder by a band of stylised waves and two applied ring handles, above with a floral band and lotus blossoms and scrolls across the straight neck, with a wave band at the splayed rim, to the bottom with a band of lotus leaves and waves around the footring. – Formerly property from an old German private collection, assembled in the 1920s – Small restored section to rim, the footring partly chipped |
