The source of the name “KAZE TADASHIKU IPPAN KAKARU” refers to the phase from a classic Chinese poem. The piece is made by using a hand-forming technique, which is the traditional style of Raku ware. This is a thin, shoe-shaped tea bowl with a part of the rim being pushed inward. The piece is coated with many different glazes, such as a vivid cobalt, an ash, a chromium and a black glaze. Short lines flowing in a belt shape look as if sail-fringes are fluttering in the wind. The double foot is seen as Karatsu and Shino Ware. This work is one of the “Day Voyage” series.
