This bulb-shaped bottle is commonly called a yuhuchun bottle. The body is decorated with three foliate-edged frames filled with wave and lotus designs. The lotus blossoms and leaves are each shown in three different figural variations. The areas between these lotus pond motifs are decorated with cut flowers. The upper design area around the neck includes vine motifs and lotus petals decorated with lucky symbols, while the lower area is decorated with linked shippo chain designs, rama -style lotus petals, and double lotus-petal motifs. These are all typical examples of motifs and compositions found on Yuan dynasty underglaze blue porcelain. The Islamic world and various countries of Southeast Asia enjoyed the color blue, and hence Yuan dynasty underglaze blue porcelains were popular export items to these areas. This work is said to have been excavated in the Kalimantan area of Indonesia.
