This tea-leaf storage jar from China is said to have been bestowed to Tachibana Muneshige at the Osaka Castle by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The jars that came from China via Luzon island, the Philippines, were called “Luzon”, and they were placed at the top item among the tea utensils in the period of Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyosh (16th-17th century). The possession of excellent jars represented the highest status of military commanders. This jar was broken into four pieces and was repaired with lacquer. The shape of the rim is unknown because it is still sealed. The engraved seal in "Rengeo (lotus king)" is unique from other Rengeo seals.
