This is a ceramic sculptural vase portraying mythological faces and head offerings. In the pottery of the Late Nazca style the designs multiply, reflecting a fear for emptiness (horror vacui). Complex representations of humans, animals and supernatural beings are frequent, and naturalistic representations are scarce. The feline god continues as a divinity, and is represented in a stylized way, as a flying feline wearing a nose ring with rays that sometimes end in snake heads. The traits of the feline, bird and snake are present in this personage. Another common motif is the trophy head or head offering, that is portrayed in the upper decorative band of this vessel. (UH)

Este es un vaso de cerámica con dise?os de rostros mitológicos y cabezas ofrenda. En la cerámica Nazca B o Nazca Prolífero los temas decorativos se multiplican, reflejando un horror al vacío (horror vacui). Son frecuentes las representaciones complejas de seres humanos, animales y seres sobrenaturales, y las representaciones naturalistas son escasas. El dios felino sigue como divinidad, y se representa estilizado: es un felino volador que lleva una gran nariguera con rayos que en algunos casos terminan en cabezas de serpiente. Los rasgos del felino, ave y serpiente se combinan en este personaje. Otro motivo frecuente es el de las cabezas trofeo u ofrenda, como aparece en la banda decorativa superior de este vaso. (UH)
