This is a plate of Zhangzhou ware. It contains remnants of sand that adheres on the footring. There are some unglazed places inside the footring. The flower patterns are painted on the outer rim which comprises eight paneled compartments and the Chinese Phoenix design is painted at the center in somewhat darker tone color of indigo on the greyish white glaze. It expresses the characteristics of Zhangzhou ware in the late Ming period very well.
