This bottle ceramic sculpture depicts a cadaverous male character wearing a very ornate robe, large ear ornaments, and a pectoral. His decorations and clothing account for his high social status, so he could probably be a community ancestor, who is accompanied by a woman who embraces him. The ancestor, who inhabits the inner world, plays the antara which is an instrument that facilitates contact between the worlds The antara or Andean pan-flute, is an instrument that is played in pairs, both antaras complementing each other with the execution of both musicians. En esta botella escultórica de cerámica se representa a un personaje cadavérico masculino vestido con una túnica muy ornamentada, grandes orejeras, y pectoral. Sus adornos y vestimenta dan cuenta de su alto estatus social, por lo que se trataría de un ancestro comunitario, que está acompa?ado por una mujer que lo abraza. El ancestro, que habita el mundo de abajo, toca la antara, instrumento que propicia el contacto entre los mundos. La antara es un instrumento que se toca en parejas, complementándose ambas antaras con la ejecución de ambos músicos. (UH)
