This tea bowl of Aka-Oribe ware is made of red clay which opens widely from the small rounded foot. It is painted with bold pattern of iron pigment on the engobe which is attached inside the bowl. The lip is applied with iron glaze and is slightly distorted. Several spur marks remain, three marks inside the bowl and four marks at the foot. There are some cracks at the edge of the foot and along the lip. A crack along the lip is only repaired with vermillion lacquer.
