This is a variation of ido (well-shaped) tea bowl. This excellent tea bowl from Korea is called "sumifuki-chawan (ink sprayed tea bowl)" because of the presence of sprayed, variegated shades of indian ink in some places on the white glazed body. This type of shape which is distorted by strongly pushing one part of the lip is called Amikasa-gata (straw hat shape). The combination of the distortion and the ink sprays makes a rich appearance. Eight spur marks remain inside the surface of the bowl.
