This tea bowl has engraved design on the interior surface. It shows two Chinese children and two drawstring bags-like motifs against the background of arabesque patterns. It is coated with celadon glaze all over the surface. Reddish-brown earth color can be seen at the unglazed bottom edge of the base. It is said to belong to the 3rd Tachibana Tadashige's wife (coming from the DATE family). The original one was made in the 12th century, but this might be restored.
