This is a teabowl upon which autumn plants are densely drawn using vivid colors such as red, yellow, and blue on the entire surface—both the inside and outside—of the container, to which a pale yellow glaze has been applied. Gold paint is used in several places, making the teabowl even more brilliant. From the time of Nobuchika, the first generation of the Nagahara family, the family was appointed by Matsudaira Fumai, the seventh feudal lord of the Matsue Domain, to produce commissioned pottery. Eisuke Fusanori (Un'ei) was the third generation in this family, and he was active during the period of drastic change from the closing days of the Edo period to the beginning of the Meiji period.
