This is a Mishima water jar called "Koyomide", which shows white inlaid patterns resembling fine rope curtain over the body one above the other. It has an imposing figure with its stocky foot and its swelled shoulder. The distortion of its mouth may be preferred by a master of the tea ceremony. This masterpiece is famous for its excellence of Okusano kiln, old kiln in Karatsu.
