The water dropper was one of the main tools for writing. It holds water inside when ink-stick was grinded. It is also possible to control water volume. The demand of dropper in Joseon period kept rising because Joseon had a favorable writing culture. This is a square-shaped dropper and the decoration patterns are pine tree and crane. Wishes for longevity were always the issue in ancient times and so ten divine animals and plants which carry meanings of longevity were used on the artefacts. Pine trees and cranes are among those ten divine things. (D 8.0cm)
