description	A DOUCAI CHICKEN CUP. Qing Dynasty， 18th Century. Finely potted with rounded sides rising from a countersunk base to a gently flared rim， the exterior delicately outlined in underglaze blue and painted in bright translucent enamels of yellow， green， olive green and iron-red of shaded tones， one side with a cockerel turned back to see the hen lowered to observe one of the three surrounding chicks， the reverse with a further cockerel leading a hen and three chicks， the two scenes divided on one side by jagged underglaze-blue rocks with flowers emerging from them， the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character Chenghua mark within a double square， 4cm H， 9.5cm diameter.
