description | A FAMILLE ROSE ‘BOYS AT PLAY’ BOTTLE VASE. Qing Dynasty, Jiaqing mark and period. The ovoid body finely painted with a continuous scene of boys and attendants in a garden, set between pendant and upright ruyi-heads draping the shoulder and skirting the blue key-fret foot, all below a tall slender waisted neck with an everted rim, painted on a yellow ground with floral scrolls, the shoulders set with twin stylised dragon handles in iron red and heightened in gilt, the interior and the underside glazed in turquoise, the base inscribed with a six-character Jiaqing mark in iron-red reserved on a white ground, 26cm H. 清嘉庆 粉彩婴戏图双耳瓶,矾红「大清嘉庆年制」篆书款 |
