description | Modelling of the imitation bronze jue chow, mouth along as circular flow before and after, flanked on each side by a ears, round abdomen on each side head, three cone bearing under great. Bought in 1942. see big weed, Sir (Sir Percival David) similar collection of collection. RARE THREE LEGGED JUE FROM SELADON CERAMIC. Longquan celadon with leather-brown stoneware body, covered by a thick, opaque glaze. On three high legs with a small, bulbous body and boat-shaped spouts on both sides. Each side with a handle loop and a small spherical handle on the lip. Below the edge in fine relief a meander border, body and spouts with leafy tendrils and lingzhi mushrooms. Both areas are each edged by double lines. The form, borrowed from the canon of archaic bronzes, became interestingly transfered into the technique of celadon ceramics. Height 11.5cm. Condition A.
