The upper globular section originally designed to revolve, with a central band, finely carved with four pairs of bats painted in iron red against reticulated scrolling clouds, the bats between finely carved shou character reticulated medallions, the body with scrolling flowers on a yellow ground. Supported by a knopped bell-shaped shaft, with reticulated bat, shou character and wan decoration on a yellow ground and further supported by four pierced flanges in the form of stylised chilong on an iron-red decorated quatrefoil stand with scalloped apron and four ruyi-shaped feet and gilt decoration, 29cm H. |
