description | The center of the dish is boldly decorated with tree peony bearing three blossoms growing around a rock formation within a braided border,and below a band of gardenia scroll bearing six large blossoms in the well,while the exterior is encircled by a band of peony scroll bearing eight large blossoms. PROVENANCE Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Herzman Collection. Indianapolis Museum of Art,Indianapolis,Indiana,accessioned in 1983. LITERATURE S.
