the ovoid body supported on a spreading foot and rising to a tall cylindrical neck with a flared rim, the neck set with a pair of dragon handles, decorated in the typical aubergine, green and yellow palette with panels enclosing birds and flowers, the base with an apocryphal Kangxi reign mark (2)

Note:

Collection of the Scottish architect Alexander Hunter Crawford (1865-1945), who designed among others the Freemason’s Hall in Edinburgh. He possibly acquired the vases from Spink & Son in the 1930s, thence by descent.
