The central roundel of each decorated with a lush floral bouquet encircled by twenty-four moulded cartouches each with two differently patterned designs following on from a different double cartouche scene of animals or a landscape scene, 36cm diameter. (2) Literature: For a related single dish of identical size from the collection of the Shanghai Museum see The Complete Works of Chinese Ceramics, 2000, volume XIV, pl no 76. The Shanghai Museum dish is more simplistic in its composition with less variety in the double-cartouche scenes. |
