BUTTERFLY VASE. PORCELAIN FAMILLE ROSE.
China. Qing Dynasty， Guangxu period （1875-1908）.
Porcelain， painted in the colours of the famille rose with gold. Shoulder bottle （yu tang chun ping） with high， trumpet-shaped neck over spherical body. On the body butterflies in various colours and positions. On the shoulder between two golden rings a lotus border with the character for a long life （shou）， which is enhanced by the motif of the 100 butterflies. Below the rim a ruyi border， above the base a similar border of stylised lotus leaves. Height 38.5cm， Ø 22cm. In the bottom a six character Guangxu mark in iron red. Condition A.
