It has a seal of ‘Raku’ inside the foot. There is also a note on the box containing the tea bowl which says ‘By Nonkau, -3rd Raku’. Nonkau is another name of Dōnyu (1599-1656), the 3rd head of the Raku family, who was well known as an expert potter. Therefore, it has been handed down as a tea bowl which was created by Dōnyu. This tea bowl is made of red clay and coated with sand glaze. A white pine needle is represented on the body. The sharp angle line of the needle gives us a keen impression.
