Clay Human Head Figurine

Well modelled head in clay. The neck swells out in a cone and breaks off abruptly; perhaps there was a pedestal. The clay itself is rough, but well baked. The features are clear cut; the nose, eyes and forehead are well defined, and the whole face is made to slope backwards, giving the effect of a prominent jaw. The hair is arranged like a barrister's wig, the curls being indicated by deep pittings.
