description | This piece is the treasure of Song Dynasty Jian kiln, rabbit hair like glaze in black and yellow intervals, like spring rain, overlap one another but can be seen clearly. The inner is evenly glazed, the outer wall glazed with drippings to the foot, the base is dark brown in colour. Jian kilns used clay with high iron content, dark brown in colour, black, gold, purple or gray. In addition, some has swirl pattern on foot and some are black with hair like lines. Song people love Jianyao, lots of tea lovers are dignitaries and royal families. Emperor Huizong Zhao Ji saids, ‘ Best bowl in black glazed with fine lines smooth like jade and thin like hair strands‘ to describe Jianyao rabbit hair bowls. During the song dynasty, people love literature, Cai Xiang written ‘The Record Of Tea saids ‘Best tea cup to contain tea is rabbit hair glazed with purple hues and look new; The best water to brew tea is clear with bubbles like crab eyes’.
